Sounds silly but although it’s clearly a bit smokey we haven’t been before so wasn’t sure how visibility would be anyway and after dealing with the fog in SAN Francisco anything goes!
Going on the tour shortly so I’ll let you know later if it’s worth it

Thanks - do report back!

One of the main things we wanted to do was Glacier Point and I know we can’t do that now.

Will be reading with interest. We are staying outside Yosemite-so I’m sure we will find other things to do

So just got back from tour and it went really well. Glacier point is closed as this is the firefighters base. The guides and rangers were surprised how much better visibility was this morning compared to the last 2/3 days. There was a lot of smoke and there are warnings about but we managed to see everything. I am glad we didn’t cancel but anybody about to go should monitor the park website as the fire is by no means under control and things could change at any time

I meant to add that the smoke did pick up in the afternoon. Few pics

Lovely pictures, it's great to hear you are still having a good time despite the fires.

Thanks for the update. Have just seen that the fire is heading further towards Yosemite and has jumped the river.

We were hoping to stay at Yosemite at the end of our holiday... Not sure whether we should be thinking about a Plan B! We are there from 14th-19th August.

The fire is apparently over 27,000 acres now and Yosemite West is under mandatory evacuation. Still undecided what to do but trying to find an alternative is not going well.
