I think I just expected...more? It really wasn't what I thought it was going to be like!

Yes, we were out and about at all times. It was heavy but we never experienced anything bad.
Warner Bros I think we were there for about 2.5 hrs in all. We got there early and they put us on an earlier tour.

What a good idea to post highs and lows of a trip.
We’re off 3 weeks today and we cant wait. Its good to read that San Fransisco was your favourite stop... and that the traffic in LA wasnt as bad as you thought ( was worried about it as we’re now heading in to Universal for A HHN). Also the comment about the coastal drive. I think it’ll be beautiful but Scotland in the sunshine can throw up some amazing views and beaches too. The place im scared of being disappointed in is Yosemite. I know itll be beautiful, but im worried about it feeling like an outdoor theme park. I was in the North Cascades last year hiking and i think the beauty and isolation there might have spoilt me. |

That’s really helpful thank you! The way people complain has been scaring me. I’ve driven in London so hopefully it won’t be much worse. That’s great they put you on an earlier tour, we are coming from Anaheim so will leave with plenty of time but it will be great if we get there early and can start earlier. |

I’m not the bravest driver. I won’t drive in London but I drove around L.A. no bother and sort of found myself thinking “ is this is what all the fuss is about?”. Even my husband who doesn’t drive remarked on how relaxed the driving was. The streets are wide, flat, no roundabouts, almost no bends or one way streets it’s a big grid. And the traffic wasn’t as bad as I had been fearing either. And to boot I loved the city despite hearing so many call it a dump so it was such a pleasant surprise all around and we’re spending extra time there this year.

I don’t know if you have been to a US park but they are amazing yes they put in things to make them accessible for folk with mobility problems and yes Yosemite will still be busy. However other than the stuff in the valley and the occasional toilet it’s not got anything added, womderful |

Wow that’s great you drove in LA if you don’t drive in London!
I’m glad it’s not as stressful as I had thought! I hate roundabouts, so grateful they don’t have any 😂 we’ve only got one day there so I want to make the most of and will have to drive. I’ve even been monitoring google maps (sad I know) to see the traffic and it only seems to add on an extra 20-30 mins which is no worse than my commute to work! |

The only city I hated driving in, in the US was New York I don’t think any city there is as BA day as Paris, Milan or Malaga

LA isn't hard to drive in, especially the non interstates. Its just all stop start traffic as there are lights at most of the junctions every 500 metres. Just think of any city centre at rush hour but join 10 UK cities together for scale.
Interstates you have to be prepared like the M25 in that they drive bumper to bumper no matter what speed under fear someone may get in front of them (again like the M25). You just need to plan for junctions and get in lane nice and early. Its a doddle, just very slow at times. |
