Eating out in San Francisco

Heading to San Francisco in a few weeks and trying to suss out some places to eat. My husband and kids would eat IHOP and Cheesecake Factory every day if I let them Last went 15 years ago and other than Equinox at the Hyatt (now closed), never had any memorable meals.

Staying Fisherman's Wharf, other than Hunan Home in Chinatown, CF and Mr Holme's Bakery, have no idea. Not massive seafood fans, but grateful for any recommendations- kids are 11 and 14

Buena Vista Cafe on Hyde, famous for it's Irish coffee. Had a great breakfast there b4 our Dylan's Tour , near starting point. Ghiardelli's for ice cream sundaes, not cheap but delicious. Also saw them making their chocolate! There's a Gordon Biersch near baseball stadium(?). Haven't tried this one but love the one in Burbank. Garlic fries are divine, lovely mix of food. Red Cuillen''s trip report covers the Burbank one! He loved the beer menu 🍺 Liked Boudins too

Lapperts ice cream parlour in Sausalito. You might have to queue for it, but it's very much worth the wait.

We went to the Palomino the last time we were there and it was fantastic with stunning panoramic views across to Bay Bridge. It sits on the Embarcadero, just along from Fishermans Wharf.

We went to Boudin's, not the one actually on Pier 39, the big flagship one. You can eat downstairs in the cafe or upstairs in the bistro, just tell the host which you prefer when you arrive. Really enjoyed it - the smell of the sourdough is divine and the clam chowder was delicious!

Thank you all so much. Ghirardeli was a given, we loved popping in there at night for a hot chocolate. Planning a visit to Sausalito too, and will look out for ice cream shop, last time we just visited a diner. Will check out all the other suggestions too.
