I read earlier that all estas are now showing as expired.

I’d wait a while to see what advice is given on the website. Pointless applying if it’ll just be changed to expired.

Perhaps read THIS thread re ESTA status change, some, including an ESTA that wasn't due to expire until Sept 2021, received emails advising ESTA 'expired', ie: cancelled by the US.

Might be worth monitoring the situation for a while.

I certainly agree about monitoring it. As someone earlier said some estas are being marked as expired but some are still approved. Maybe it's just the sheer number that have to be processed.

I'm more or less resigned to our September trip not going ahead but I applied for our estas on Sunday. They were approved.

It didn't work in chrome - it wouldn't go to the 'apply' page once I put the emailed code in. I used Microsoft Edge and it was fine.

well I do not agree with that at all.

ESTA is a travel authorisation you need to get, and that's granted based on eligibility

since the ban is in place, Residents from EU, UK, and IE are no longer eligible for US entry

this means, in essence, that entering your country of residence as UK just meets a condition for your ESTA to be rejected.

I would be very wary of renewing an ESTA will the ban is in place, as our country is currently not eligible for travel under ESTA

I can't find anything on their website that indicates that it would not be authorised, just that you can't travel until the ban is lifted. I haven't heard of anyone being stopped from applying either. If you have heard of this happening it would be useful to the group. We are still listed on visa waiver list.

Looks like all current estas are being automatically set to expired. Ours that we only payed for and had approved about 2 weeks ago now shows expired. I personally wait and not waste the money, theres no info if when things calm down it would automatically change back to being authorised?
