2021 WDW 50th Anniversary Celebrations?
We are planning future holidays and this is probably a question nobody can answer in all honesty, but, I'll give it a go.
Our plan is to go back to WDW every couple of years in October time, we went this year so in theory we should be going in 2019, 2021 and so on. We would love to be there in 2021 for the 50th Anniversary celebrations, but, was wondering how busy it would be in October considering it is the month of it's anniversary. Do you think it would be similar to the crazy christmas crowd levels? Also, regards Star Wars and Toy Story land opening in 2019, do you think it will definitely open in 2019 or would it be safer to leave it until 2020 when there's more chance? |

I think the 1st MK will be heaving. I'm the same age as MK and my birthday is September so I'm often there for the milestones. The 40th & 45th MK was really busy and last year I noticed queues all the way along Main St for 45th merch. Can you imagine the 50th? We did only notice crowds on the 1st October though.
I'll be going for my 50th but will likely avoid MK if we're there over the 1st October. |

I thought Toy story land was opening next year and Star Wars 2019.
We are planning for 2019 but before star wars opens hopefully as it will be crazy busy for months after it opens. Just look at Pandora and that's nowhere near as popular as the Star Wars franchise!

Toy Story 2018 Star Wars 2019
Star Wars land will be absolutely crazy. I guess that the queues will be the longest queues in WDW history. It will probably better to go to HS in 2020 if you can wait that long! 2021 50th celebrations might be just about doable. Edited at 12:25 PM. |

The 50th celebrations will probably last for 12 months as previous ones have. I’m certainly hoping so as my 50th is 2022 and I want to go then!

DL 50th anniversary lasted for about 16 months ... and I'm hoping the Magic Kingdom 50th anniversary celebrations will last a while too! October 2021 won't really suit us ... but the summer hols or Christmas that year would ... and DCL will be launching a new ship that year too

Epcot will be celebrating its 40th in 2022 so we may go then instead.

Do they do anything extra for an anniversary year? Parades etc, or any special offers?
