Port Orleans Riverside or FQ?
After weighing up pros and cons of staying offsite or onsite we’ve decided to stay onsite with day dining for Aug ‘19 and hopefully will be booking in a couple of weeks, eeek 😃!
Just wanted peoples’ opinions on whether port Orleans riverside or FQ is better? We’re a family of 4 (2a & 2c-4 and 9). |

We much preferred the french quarter. It is smaller, had the kids favourite pool and sassagoulla flatworks is one of our favourite QS places. We enjoyed spending sometime at the riverside but preferred the more intimate comfortable feel of french quarter.

We stayed at French quarter last year and originally booked riverside for next year but have now changed it to French quarter again. The small size of it is perfect with young children, We also preferred the FQ pool and splash park. Have a look at some resort tours on YouTube to get a feel. For us with 4 and 6 year olds French quarter was perfect

I prefer FQ. Second choice would be the RS Mansions area, prefer the theming on that side of the the resort. But AB in POR might be better as you then have the option of the pull down bed in case the kids aren't happy sharing the double bed.

Riverside for us, one of the pros is that because the bus shuttles are shared between FQ and R. the buses will always stop at riverside first, by the time they get to the FQ it can be full or not a lot of room on the bus.
its a small but very convenient reason to stay at Riverside

We’ve stayed at FQ twice and the only time the buses have been shared is coming home from AK. Even then they dropped off at FQ first.

Riverside for us, because we love the quiet pools and prefer the food choices in the food court.

We've gone with Riverside because FQ wasn't available when we booked. We have used the pulldown beds at VGF and the Poly, and it's nice to have the extra bed. I'm still contemplating FQ if it were to appear though because I like the look of the smaller resort.
