How to ride Avatar FOP standbye with minimal wait.

Hi all. I had been trying to get a fast pass for Avatar FOP daily since the 30 day window opened with no success. Me and everyone else apparently. So here is a tip on how we managed to get on the ride relatively easily:-
Step 1. - Get up early. We rose at 06:30, shower, shave and sh... em put the coffee on. Easy during your first couple of days.
Step 2. - Hit the road. Aim to be in the car park 07:30-45 then bag search and at the ropes for 8. The ropes dropped approx 08:15.
Step 3. Head for Pandora. No need to run or push your way through- you have plenty of time.
Step 4. join the huge (it will seem) queue for FOP. Do not waiver at this point. It will seem hopeless. It's 08:15, the park opens at nine and the line is already long.
Step 5. Have faith in the Disney magic. The line will move steadily, sometimes quickly. You will pass through the standby entrance where it will show a 60 min wait. Don't despair.
Step 6. Before you know it you are in the holding area having your brain scanned and probes inserted so as you can become one with your Avatar and soar on the back of a banshee.

Apparently they open FOP early even for us mere mortals staying off site. We were off the ride and on safari by 09:30! A bit of an early start but totally worth it. The ride is superb!

what was the car park like was it a long walk to the main entrance?

An even better way is to enter the line 1 minute before park closure, this way no need to wake up early. The sign will say 120 mins wait but in reality you will be done and out in about 60 mins.

Also, if you refresh your MDE app at 10:21am on the day looking for Fastpasses, you will find that they release lots of them at that time - they will go in 2 minutes though, so you have to keep refreshing until they appear and be fast!

I have tried the 10.21 thing twice this year with no success although it did work last year when it was 10.37

We did this last September and it worked perfectly! The rest of he park was quiet after we had been on this ride too.

Or just open the MDE app. We picked up fast passes for 4 of us in 30 minutes later, we honestly couldn’t believe our luck. IMHO the best ride in the whole of Disney

We were 3rd row. It was about a 5 min walk to bag check from there.

We did this 2 weeks ago,got to the entrance for 8am,they let us in at 8.20,we walked straight into flight of passage and we were off for 9.05!
