Just booked indirect flights - what do I need to know?

Could you get a nearby hotel for a few hours sleep then go for a later train or do you think that would feel worse?

I actually have an auntie that lives near Heathrow with umpteen spare rooms that would be happy to have us but I kind of feel like that would just draw it out even more. I’m just going to hope we are tired and comfy enough to just sleep on the train. We can get any train we want so will aim for a direct one if possible 🤞
