I would use Bailey’s, Amarula or Vanilla Vodka maybe?

Couldn’t get Amarula in Tesco, Morrison’s or Asda. Is Baileys similar?

Sparksy72, what do you think as I notice you have Amarula in the thread with your cocktails.

Hi Fluff, full disclosure, I don’t know much about cocktails or alcohol other than wine!

My Amarula was a gift and it came via Amazon. I would imagine that if you can’t find it to buy, then you could absolutely use Bailey’s.

Hi there

Amarula and Baileys are very similar. Amarula is made from a fruit from South Africa and I think it's usually dairy free made from soya milk. Both are the same sort of flavour and consistency, with the same sort of creaminess.

I would think Baileys is a reasonable substitute for Amarula.

Haha, I thought you were the cocktail queen when I saw your photos from the last few nights.

we might add a bit of milk or cream to loosen it up a bit, but yeah, its basically vienetta and rum (or whatever is to hand) and a blender!

we discovered it a few years ago, and now we get a couple of vienettas in for the NYE party. one year, we couldnt find any, and now we end up with 2-4 as a couple of others bring one along too

personally, i prefer the chocolate vienetta, and the mint one is poisonous. the original one is ok, but this year we have one of these to take to the party...

might try brandy instead of rum

Isn't Amarula what they dish out on Virgin with the coffee after dinner?

It's very moreish
