Do you add anything as well as coke or just coke? And by coke do you mean Coca Cola?

I use cheap full fat cola. You need the sugar content so not diet.

About 10 cloves. Teaspoon of peppercorns. 1 cinnamon stick.

for the glaze I use honey and soy sauce with brown sugar to thicken it.

I use coke and then when its done, I glaze it in treacle and a dusting of English mustard powder and then put it in the oven for half an hour- apparently its amazing. I don’t like gammon personally.

Just coke but we got Coke Zero so hope it works that’s all we could get. I top it up if it needs it

We have Coke Zero maybe I need cheap full fat coke then

You definitely need the non-diet version, and preferably proper brand coca cola. It's the syrup that gives it the sweetness and flavour, sweetners just aren't the same.
