Feeling ill after smear test

I had a smear test and ultrasound this morning. When I got home I started to feel a little nauseous and light headed

I did go “ wandering “ around shops for a few hours.

Never experienced this before post smear.. maybe it’s just coincidence?

Even though I’m a retired nurses this was not my field of experience.

Anyone else had issues

Could it have been a reaction to stress?. I find if I'm stressed about something I sometimes feel sick and or dizzy once the stress has gone.

This was my thought too? I’m the same, with piercings and my first tattoo (and my first blood test) I stressed so much the come down makes me go all green and faint for a minute!

Have you recently had a Flu Jab? I had both a smear and Flu Jab last week on the same day and I felt awful when I left the surgery and for the next couple of days.

Quite possibly. Hospital appointments are stressful as I’m communicating in another language and feel pressure to obviously understand everything. Also it was a one year post cancer check

My thoughts as well

I always pass out when I have mine and was told it is because of the vasovagal nerve. If it's in the wrong place and is touched with the swab it can make you faint.
