Dopey Challenge

Over the years I've done Goofy, Wine and Dine and more recently Star Wars Rival Run challenge last year and never had any issues driving in at all.

It is a lot of money if this current situation continues. Given the healthcare insurance in USA at the moment, and that most travel insurers have changed policies, I would be considering different options. You can get bibs etc through travel agents out there, which may give you more options on cancelling.

What about race insurance? That's being mentioned on some of the RunDisney facebook chat. I haven't looked into it though.

I only signed up last week to run Wine and Dine ... I am hoping that by then we have got back to some sort of normality.
Run Disney still haven’t cancelled Star Wars yet.

Thanks Michelle - I know in the scheme of things it’s not important- just trying to take my mind off other things. It’s my sons who are interested - one hoping to do the 10 k and the other the Dopey. Take care.

What about getting them to do a virtual run in the meantime? See if they can clock up enough miles to run around EPCOT etc? That might be fun - they would need to use google maps to plot out a route and work out how far they've gone to pass various landmarks... depends on the age of the child I suppose.

It will be interesting to see if they convert the Star Wars races to virtual races or if they offer credit towards future races if it is cancelled, if the latter is the case I guess most people would use that towards Dopey weekend as Wine & Dine is already sold out.
I really enjoyed the 2 races (5& 10k)I ran at Dopey weekend this time and I know my DD loved doing the Dopey challenge. We even met a couple of people at Manchester airport who recognised her from her running Instagram account and we saw them at the races as well, it is a fantastic atmosphere and hopefully I’ll get the chance at some point to run in that weekend again.

Completed Dopey in January this year, so desperate to go back in Jan 2021 and I am holding out for free dining but its just such a gamble with whats going on!
