Mobile Anyone have a e-bike

I've always had a regular bike and like cycling for leisure. I'd always felt having a e-bike of a lazy way of getting around. Now I've started to think one could be useful and quicker for short trips and more environmentally friendly than using the car. So long as I didn't want to get much shopping
Is anyone a convert to an e-bike

Yes I have one! I love it. I purchased a mid range bike lady year and it’s perfect. We have a lot of hills nearby so it is great to have the extra power. I did not use it much in the winter but am out every evening for a cycle this time of year. Would recommend

Nothing lazy about them, you still have to pedal. It can give you a boost when needed which is invaluable up hills for example👍
They are great as they open up biking to a lot more people and you can turn the motor on and off when suits you.👍

Can you use them.on cycle paths, and how are they on uneven ground. I have a mountain bike and a hybrid bike. I bought a road bike once but didn't get along with it

Good post

I might get one - I have been using Boris bikes and Uber bikes in London last few weeks to see what I prefer and the Uber Jump gets my vote I think albeit they are a bit heavy . I will be keeping my eye on this thread for tips

There are significant differences in pricing, like regular bikes.
If you google e-mtb, loads of big e-bike retailers appear with lots of good brands- take a look👍

I have an E-MTB and love it. It's twice the weight of my old non electric mountain bike and bigger (29" wheels). I use it over the woods and it makes a more fun ride going up and down the hills without getting a heart attack. It has 3 power levels, and it's on the low level for 90% of the time so I'm doing most of the work, and I come home feeling I've had fun and exercised without needing to go to A & E (I'm not as young as I once was).

Mine is a hardtail E-mtb which means it only has front suspension. It's fine over the bumps for what I use it for, but many buy the more expensive ones with front and rear suspension which is around £3,600, but I don't regret buying the hardtail which was about £2,200.

I used one in Austria a few years ago during the summer and we cycled to the top of the Alps, and even with E bike we were still pedaling hard.

Just wondering if people who use them daily find them heavy, at the moment I have a very light road bike but my next bike will be an e bike as I am not getting any younger

Yes I have one- they are very fun to ride, particularly with a Badass Box on them (of course, off road only on private land only ). I have a Trek Power Fly. I can average about 20mph on that, and make it crack.

I have a road and mountain bike (normal) also. You can still put a lot of effort into the Ebike- you just go twice as fast.
