Mobile Silly question

Sorry I woke up at 3.30am and it popped onto my mind ... do they use contact less in USA ?
How common is chip and pin now ?
Or is it still swipe and sign ?

Never used contactless in the states, not sure if Apple/google pay will work over there.

Most places tend to be going chip and pin these days.

7 years ago I had Virgin Atlantic credit card through AMEX. It was contactless and I used it contactless in lots of Starbucks in Los Angeles. I got rid of the card before I went back to Florida a couple of years later so couldn't try it there.

Chip and pin works . I used it in disney lots last year, just tap in the same place you would with a magic band. Some of the staff were amazed that it worked.
Apple pay will also work.
