Mugs on rides

We are getting the refill mugs in Universal. Can you take these on rides with you or do they have to go in a locker?

If the ride specifically has lockers then everything loose has to go in it.

Otherwise you can take bags and your refillable mug on the other rides.

Took mine on jurrasic park and ended up with sprite everywhere after the big drop.

Not as big a pain as someone getting hit by one

I might be wrong but sure I read recently that the sizes of lockers have changed and only the small ones are free whilst you are on a ride and the fact that mugs don’t stand up in the small ones so finish your drinks before the ride 🙂

I was hoping that there was a slot or mesh holder thing for mugs/ glasses/phones etc.
Is every ride the same that u can't take stuff at all on for obvious safety reasons ie bits flying off?

The big rides ban anything, and quite rightly, that can fall from a ride since some poor sod lost (as in was blinded) an eye when the person on the ride car above them had a purse (or wallet can't remember now) fall and hit them in the face at speed!

They’re very strict at Universal. Don’t try and avoid it they will catch you out. That is embarrassing. Ask my 20 year old 🙄

I would work on my kids learning to drink water. In the Florida heat and sun it is much better to rehydrate with water than fizzy drinks.
