Can our friends treat us with their dining plan credits?

Our friends are going to WDW on the dining plan during Nov/Dec this year and we overlap with them one week. However DH and I are doing Universal this time, as we did Disney last year. They are offering to take us out using their dining credits and am not sure whether Disney would allow this?

Also, I realise this would limit our dining options to either resort hotels or Disney Springs, as we won't have Disney tickets. So, if they are able to do this where would be your recommendations? We are all seniors!

Thanks for any help.

Ann.

Yes they can, and IMO the better dining is outside of the parks anyway.

Would they be looking at signature (2 credit) meals or just single credit ones? What kind of food do you like? My recommendation would be anything at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Sanaa, Boma and Jiko) but that's the food style I like.

Given the time of year, I'd also look at the restaurants in the Grand Floridian as it's beautifully decorated for Christmas. All the deluxe resorts are actually, but I love the big gingerbread house.

Yes in fact we bought quick service meals for strangers to use up our credits on the dining plan. They were delighted.

Thanks both of you for your help. We've eaten at Boma, but not the others. Grand Floridian sounds great, might have to check out the menus there!

Any more suggestions welcomed!

We used our dining credits to treat friends to dinner at 'Ohana in the Polynesian Resort. I'd definitely recommend it, we had a really good meal, the food was lovely!

Chef Art Smiths Homecomin in Disney Springs was one of our favourite meals of the holiday. Fried Chicken, Donuts and Mac & Cheese, how can you go wrong with that all together in one meal?

We also really enjoyed Sanaa as mentioned above.

Final suggestion would be Trails End which is at Fort Wilderness. It is a buffet restaurant but it is fab with so much choice! It has always been just the right level of busy when we have been!

What a lovely thing to do, I'm going to do this next time as we had loads of QS credits left at the end of our holiday.(We did buy tons of sweets with them!)

Wow - I genuinely didn't think that you could do this. Didn't Disney have a thing where you can't buy meals for people not on the dining plan? QS would be difficult to do but for TS I was sure I'd read somewhere that you weren't allowed?

If you are, that's terrific. Me and DH might do DxDDP and use left over credits for our family...
