Mobile Paying with DDP

Got free dining plan this year for first time. Can we use a table credit to pay for a meal if we don't have a dessert? We normally only eat a main course but want to use our credits to pay so will order a dessert if we have to buy rather not.

Are soft drinks with meal refillable?

We rarely eat desserts too, so typically we "wasted" part of our table credit but to be honest didn't give it much thought. I don't want to eat a pudding I don't want (and can't justify to my waist line) just because it is in the plan.

Yes just tell your server you don't want dessert. They will likely offer you something "to go" though.

The dessert is included in the table service credit you use on DDP but you do not have to have a desert if you don't want to, it will still use the same table credit with or without a desert if that makes sense x x

Just to add - don't get a dessert if you don't want to eat it just because it is free. It is the cost of the whole meal that determines the size of the tip so that 'free' dessert you don't want actually costs you 18 - 20% of its listed price.

Also some places allow you to swap the dessert for a simple soup or salad as an app, so that could be an option for you?

As above, ask if there are any dessert subs available. I've seen soup, salad and cheese plates offered. They can also have things like simple fruit plates (often the allergy option) which you could take to go for a snack. But you can just not order it and "waste" that part of your credit.

As others have said, you don't have to take the dessert if you don't want one. And all soft drinks like coke, lemonade etc are free refills.

It's some time ago since we were on DDP but we did sometimes ask for fruit salad etc to go, as that way we'd use it for breakfast the next day.

We often order water and very occasionally skip dessert. It does scale back the tip so if we are absolutely not eating it, I skip ordering it even though it is "wasted". And no way we are drinking something sweet every single meal for a long trip. We like our water.
