Avis Preferred
I have a BA flydrive booking that I have linked to my created AVIS account and can see my booking. So far so good
On my App, if I click on the AVIS preferred tab, I have a reference - so assume that my preferred account is set up. Now the bits I am unsure about.. In my bookings. Should it say anything about it being preferred in there, or anywhere that I could add my DW as an additional driver? Is she automatically covered to drive the vehicle as we live at the same address? (she probably won't drive, but nice knowing that she could) Will I be able to choose from the swap line? Thanks in advance |

Avis & Budget (same company) never want any information from my wife, didn't even want to see her license, they stated she was covered, and it is in the T&C's somewhere... "spouse or partner registered at same address" if I remember correctly.
I like having added security if I take unwell or something my wife can drive, albeit she doesn't want to unless necessary. Can't advise on the current system, but I don't remember seeing anywhere on booking about being preferred. I have in distant past turned up and name wasn't on the board, however they sorted me out in booth in garage very quickly. There used to be issue if car booked more than 6 months ahead, the link to preferred could drop off (or something like that), it was no hassle

Thanks Mickeymac
found this in Avis preferred global TOC 'Except where otherwise specifically authorized by applicable law, only you, your spouse or domestic partner, or, if you rent from us under your employer’s corporate account agreement, your employer or a regular fellow employee incidental to business duties may drive the car, but only with your prior permission. The other driver must be at least 25 years old and must be a capable and validly licensed driver.' I will just offer DW's driving license at the kiosk as well as mine to cover ourselves |
