tips for early universal entry

First time staying at a theme park hotel and we have picked the universal carbana beach bay hotel ,
Last time in Orlando at the villa we just went to the parks once everyone was up and ready but in no rush with no real plans .
This time its just me and my daughter and i hear you get into the park 1 hour before it opens to public , do you need to walk to the theme park ,how long does it take or do you get bussed to the entrance and if this is the case is it shove and push to get onto the bus.,
are all the rides open or is it just harry potter... what tips would you give to us ...to make it stress free but the most convenient

There are buses from Cabana Bay - it's 15-20 min walk. Never experienced any push and shove, just an orderly queue. Buses are very frequent at peak times.
Just a section will be open (usually Harry Potter).

Sadly there is no folp at cabana bay, so getting in park 1 hour prior to general public is a must,it only takes a few minutes on the bus,walking is a bit difficult,but if you do consider walking across the way to rpr hotel and jump on free water taxi to park, bondy.

I think that you also need to get to the park about 1/2 hour before the gates open, even for early entry? so if parks open at 8am for early entry, I would aim to be at bus stop at 7am, then allow for wait, 10 mins ride, then maybe it's a 5-10 mins walk to the gates from where they drop you off?

Is that right Bondy?

usually, but sometimes the minions ride is open too, or transformers.
