We got my son the Hovag mattress and it’s really comfy so we bought one for ourselves too. I think it’s a great mattress.

We have one of these too. It's fab and incredibly priced. Bought it after sleeping on one when we went to stay with DS.

This is the mattress we have for our three children. They are 8, 11 and 14 and all sleep well on them.

I have the memory foam one and I love it. DH didn’t want memory foam so we have 2 singles in the frame so that we could have different mattresses but after a year he bought a memory foam one as well.

We have an ikea mattress and can honestly say it’s amazing. We have a super king hidrasund which is actually two singles with a topper on. Dh has firm, I have medium.
I would suggest a medium for your son.
Our daughter has the medium Hovag pocket sprung and it is just as comfortable.
I like the extra length of the European sizing too.
Don’t like memory foam but it’s a very personal choice.
Definitely recommend ikea mattresses though.

Both my children have ikea memory foam mattresses and love them, maybe I should change the mattress... It might be easier to get them out of bed in the morning 🤣

We have a Hamarvik mattress and love it - still very comfortable 6 years after purchasing. We have a Hovag mattress arriving today for my son - he deemed this the best mattress with a memory foam topper after visiting Bensons for Beds and Dreams.

Memory foal on a mattress as a topper is now old had as it keeps you too warm. Decent manufacturers have moved to either a natural based topper or a type of gel that is much cooler.
We have spent a while looking at mattresses and every single shop told us not to go for MF. We ended up with. King Koil with a pocket spring bast and natural topper.
