Up-charge tumblers on dining plan?

Hi All,

im sure someone on here will have answers, but ive seen a couple of people posting saying that they have paid $10 (on top of the rapid refill mug on the dining plan) to get a metal mug?

Does anyone know if this is correct? if so is it the case across all of the resorts? And is the functionality of the metal mugs the same as the plastic ones?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I can’t remember the exact price now but we saw these in both Art of Animation and Riviera last week so I’d guess it’s something they’re rolling out to all resorts.

They looked like nice keepsakes.

I'm part of the Caribbean Beach Resort group on Facebook and I know you can get the Skyliner one in their shops. They posted that it is $10 per mug to upgrade.

They are also the Tervis brand. We got ours at one of the all Stars resorts so we could use out TiW card. They are normally $23.99 plus tax

That’s the only one I’ve seen on the group so far! :-)

The plastic one has a downside, once you have a coffee in it even after a good wash i found the next time i used it for soda the soda tasted of coffee. Can anyone confirm if the metal ones prevent this problem?

Hoping to upgrade to these on our next visit. We barely used our refillable mugs last time, because we don't really drink soft/fizzy drinks, and don't like drinking tea from a plastic mug - it just doesn't taste right. That said, having a drink in a paper cup with our meals at the hotel meant we used up credits to suit our needs instead of accumulating dozens of extra snack credits to be used up on snacks and sweets to take home. The new mug will make a nice souvenir anyway.
