A maximum of 4,000 fans are to be allowed at outdoor events in the lowest-risk areas when the national lockdown in England ends on 2 December, BBC Sport understands.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make an announcement on the return of crowds later on Monday.

He will make a statement to the House of Commons, which MPs will vote on.

There will be no crowds allowed in the highest-risk areas under the new Covid-19 restrictions in England.

Elite sports has continued behind closed doors during England's four-week lockdown, while grassroots and amateur sport has been halted since 5 November.

The phrase was more about pressing a button and turned out to be more of a WiFi / tech issue. But still made me smile.

Worried for my brothers job, he works in a gastro pub and we will probably end up in tier 3 which means they will only be allowed takeaway service (which is probably not a viable option for them based on the pub location). Feel so bad for the hospitality industry, I don’t know how Boris thinks they can survive much longer!

Totally understand that but I just think it’s so unfair on businesses that have in some instances spent money on making themselves covid secure, to then not be allowed to open. My brothers pub is not a ‘drinking’ pub which i do understand is more of a concern as people get drunk, it’s more a restaurant, so don’t see why it cannot serve people normally.
