Giving to Food banks

Our local food bank has asked for no more but I had already decided to give to the women's refuge. Gave food (normal and gluten free), sanitary items, bath soak stuff, mince pies and some advent calendars, coins and a little toy.

Dh and his work colleagues normally buy each other advent calendars for work but this year he suggested that they all bring in an item each day instead to go to the food bank. They also changed their secret Santa last year to donating a toy to the local toy collection which they will do again this year as well.

Thank's for the reminder MH, since swapping to click & collect I haven't been able to donate anything so far. Did a donation for a Christmas meal for a homeless person, but will check out our local food banks and see what they are needing.

Ocado allow you to add a donation to your shop, do other supermarkets not do this?

I’ve also give to the trussell trust as our employer is matching these this Christmas and the online giving tree.

Always donate because I know how hard it is for some people, my local barber has a Xmas tree where you take a tag off and buy the present for someone, great idea.

I phoned my local food bank, and as they said they were short on toiletries that's what they got, two big bags full, which hopefully helped a little.
My mum also bought a load of toys which they gratefully took as they are doing a toy bank for christmas too.
