Planning for 2021 - where to stay onsite Disney?
So we are hoping that life will be normal enough to go to Florida next summer, and if it isn't Disney are allowing late cancellations so we are planning to book now knowing we can bin it off if the world is still crazy. Dilemma is where to book? Help!
We are a family of 4 with a 13 yo dd and 11yo ds who will need separate beds. We are going to go with my brother who has 2 sons, will be 15 and 7 and a 17 yo daughter. Our budget can be blown - don't want to get silly, but having cancelled all the holidays this year we are up for doing something really nice. Choices are: 1 bed in OKW each; Treehouse in SSR for us all; Room in Contemporary Resort; Garden view room at Yacht Club or family suite at Art of Animation ... We've stayed in a studio at OKW before and really liked it, my brother hasn't stayed on site before. We want to be able to get about without using a car which is the main draw of on site - obviously no fast passes, but we're hoping that might change as well. No dining plan either, so being near Disney Springs is attractive as food there is better value. We're thinking a week at Disney and then a week in Naples, but might squeeze in a day or 2 at Universal. What would you book? |

The advantage of the one bed villa at OKW is the full kitchen and laundry. With a family I’d be inclined to choose that.

Yes, that and the Treehouse have the full kitchen and laundry, which is appealing. We used the laundry by the pools when we had the studio, and that was fine, but we were there for 2 weeks so it was very relaxed, for only a week I wonder if we'll be in the parks more? Don't know.

I'd go for the 2 x 1 beds at OKW, for space and privacy out of those options.
We absolutely love the treehouses but the bunk beds are not very long, my DS was 13 last time we were there and only just fit lengthwise (he's 17 now and around 5'11" so not overly tall).

The Treehouses could be a bit isolated if you don’t have a car & need to get to the main lobby area of Saratoga Springs.

Thanks - good to know. We've decided on the 1 bed villa. Booked. Flights booked. The Saturday Virgin were fully booked on the early flight and BA only had 5 seats left! Felt good to know there are quite a few other crazy people booking up FL for August. Might start a pre-trippy...
