Confused already about Christmas rules

The Government have said we can meet three households between 23rd - 27th December. It says the groupings must be ‘exclusive’. From this I’m taking it to mean that we can only meet the same three households for the whole 5 days and not meet three households one day and a different three households the next day. Is that right?

That’s correct. It’s 3 households in total, so your plus an additional 2

Me too. Do they mean every household can nominate 2 other households, OR do they mean a literal bubble of 3 households is to be formed, and each household can only socialise within those 3 households?

The latter. Each group of 3 households should be exclusive

Yes 3 households over the 5 days, not 3 per day so you’ll need to pick your 3 households (I.e your own household & 2 others) for your Christmas bubble. I’m sure people will still complain but seems generous to me. I just hope we don’t have to pay for it after Xmas. I fear we will.

People may complain because the thought of having to select 2 other household and have agreement between all 3 might be agonising. Factor in grandparents with multiple children, in laws etc and it’s actually going to be a very tough choice for a lot of people.

In my opinion it sounds reasonable, but not generous.
