Outbound Gatwick, inbound Heathrow...
I’m sure someone on here must have a great solution to the best way to manage flying from Gatwick but flying into Heathrow?
We will be driving down and staying in a hotel at Gatwick the night before. What’s the best solution for making sure our car is at Heathrow when we land?! Edited at 08:46 PM. |

You can do that with BA with the Custom Trip option as you book each flight separately.

When we've done this in the past, I have...
1. Driven to LGW and dropped the family off at the hotel, so they can chill. 2. Driven myself to LHR and parked the car. 3. Taken the parking shuttle bus back to an LHR terminal. 4. Gone into M&S and bought myself some cans of G&T. 5. Caught the National Express back to LGW, enjoying my G&T. 6. Met back up with the family at the hotel. We tend to stay at the Sofitel when flying out of LGW, which is connected to the terminal.

As above, I would drop the family off at Gatwick, then drive and park at Heathrow. Transfer back to Gatwick and you’re good to go.

Make sure you remember the G&T. It's quite an important step in the process.

I agree with Bozzà or depending on how many you are and how much luggage both go to Heathrow, park and bus to Gatwick.
I guess the other choice is park at Gatwick, fly back to Heathrow and arrange a taxi transfer back to Gatwick.. it really depends where you live Last choice, get a cab to Gatwick, get a cab home from Heathrow. Last, last choice find a friend or family member who will take and collect you. Last, last, last choice, go there and back by train. |

Depends how far you are from the respective airports 🤔 we would get a lift there and back (but we’re 20mins from gatwick 45 from Heathrow, and dead against paying airport parking!)
I would either park at Heathrow, and all of you jump on the Heathrow to gatwick shuttle/ taxi it the night before, Or drop at gatwick the family, go park at Heathrow and get a shuttle/train back to gatwick. Depends where your coming from though 🤔 I would definitely want the car parked near Heathrow though cause no way I’d want to get off a Flight (of any description) then have to drive an hour to pick up the car to drive home! Oh and if using the 2nd option, definitely have you dinner before you head back out on the m25, cause it’s stays busy till like 6.30/7 at night Edited at 09:51 PM. |

Alternatively, fly back from Tampa rather than MCO and then you can get back to Gatwick.
