Hotel/Villa recommendations Anna Maria island

We’re looking to spend our last 3 days of our trip at the beach and have decided on Anna Maria island. Has anyone got any recommendations on either a villa / hotel?

We stayed at Bali Hai, right on the beach and quite central.

We stayed at Sunrise Garden Resort, albeit about 7 years ago. Great location for both sides of the island, nice pool etc.

We stayed at Sunrise Garden Resort in May 2024 and have mixed feelings about it - would not go back. Great location - just one street from Pine Ave, secluded, pleasant pool, kitchen & living area ok. Not so good things; expensive, very dated building in need of maintenance, wardrobe doors in bedroom hanging off, air con unit located in wardrobe was literally falling to bits and noisy, drawers in bedroom smelled musty. General lack of care, laminate floors ill fitted etc. I think the units have different owners so others might be better, don’t book no 10. Also I would imagine that it would have been badly damaged in the hurricane as so close the beach.

Anna Maria is lovely though!

Most of the villas required a stay of 7 nights when we visited a few years ago. We've been four times. On shorter visits (when we could not stay for 7 nights) we have booked a hotel in Nearby Bradenton. Quick 5-10 minute drive over the bridge to park at Manatee Beach for the day... enjoyed the beach and the free island-wide trolleybus and had the best time! Hot tip is to avoid weekends, as they were a mad rush, unless you plan to drive over at daybreak.

ETA: I don't know how it is there now since the hurricane destruction.

We’ve stayed in the Waterline which is beautiful but pricey and Silver Surf. Would go back to either happily. Silver Surf is a basic motel but is clean & has its own private beach over the road. I think is been refurbished too but not sure about hurricane damage. We’re spending a couple of nights close to Anna Maria this summer but need a couple of rooms so staying over on Bradenton as it’s significantly cheaper.

We love the Waterline as well. Two bedroom suite with two bathrooms so plenty of space.

Cedar Cove in the Holmes Beach are did short breaks on our first visit. Directly on the beach and a free trolley stop right outside
