Best search engine for flights
I’ve got Disney World booked for August 7th and I’m looking for flights. I always use Skyscanner but I’m wondering if this is the best one to be looking at, or if anyone can advise anywhere better to search? Flights are scarily high at the moment! Thanks 😊🤞

I personally don't use Skyscanner or the like as they throw up a lot of stuff that doenst seem to be actually available. Also many third parties don't do immediate ticketing so that rules them out straightaway for me.
I generally start with Expedia and see whats available then go to the airline site and book there. Generally the airline sites match third parties. August will always be expensive and the best fares would have often been sold in September when released. If flights seem too cheap to be true - there is generally a catch. |

Thank you. I’ll have a look at Expedia. I don’t like booking through third parties either, so skyscanner is hard to trawl through because of that. As for prices, I’ve been looking since they first came out in September and they’ve stayed stubbornly generally the same from when they first went on sale unfortunately. They were high in September and have stayed high 😢

I only look at Skyscanner to see who does the route. I then check each airline separately in their own website. I’d rather book direct if I can.

Have used Skyscanner loads of times... if they are the cheapest option then I book with them... never ever had a problem.

I generally use Skyscanner to figure out which days and combinations of dates are cheapest, then go to airline websites. After 20+ years of travelling to Florida and having had a few disrupted journeys, I much prefer to be in control of my booking and sort things out myself direct with the airline.
Kayak is another search engine and I believe you can set alerts on your desired dates/routes and they notify you if the price drops? Are you checking prices for MCO, TPA and MIA (if you'd be willing to do the drive)? Big savings can sometimes be had. |

I’m looking at Tampa as well and that’s coming out cheaper. Only issue with that is I’m flying solo and meeting family a few days later so any travel from the airport to Disney I’m going to be paying on my own so I need to factor that in. Tampa is still coming out about £100 cheaper at the moment though so might be worth it. I’ll look at Kayak too. I usually use skyscanner but then always book with the airline direct. I haven’t been since before Covid though so flight prices are a bit of a shock! Thanks ☺️

Was looking at Tampa ourselves but the taxi to the hotel is 3x as much as it's a much longer journey, need to consider that when it comes to the savings flying into MCO, for us anway

I find Google Flights to be the best.

Kayak, but you need to be careful of who you book with, I only book direct with airlines. Kayak is used to find the best routes
