Mobile Christmas food shopping-plan of action

Wondered when everyone was doing the Christmas food shop.

When to go that will cause me as little distress as possible ?

Hate shopping at the best of times and left it too late for a Morrison’s delivery !

We went last night to avoid the crowds. Bought all the soft drinks, vegetables are now in the garage, and the non-perishables.

I couldn’t buy the desserts, pigs-in-blankets and the cream. Don’t mind just popping in on Sunday as it will only be a basket of shopping, rather than a trolley.

I do our shopping online but couldn't get a decent delivery slot so I've done it click and collect from our local Asda and we pick it up tomorrow, its my birthday tomorrow and no way I'm shopping then, working Sunday and I work next door to a Morrisons so will go in to collect bread and rolls fresh on a break, anything else I'm also working boxing day 😢 and will nip in morrisons again. Our nearest Asda is 24 hour opening and OH nipped in on way to work to get goodies for last day and text me saying it was busy... The bloke hasn't a clue lol 😂😂😂, edited to add my shopping order for tomorrow I'm impressed with how much cheaper than most years it is but I've been buying bits for cupboards and freezer for weeks so that helped

We already have the turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing and desserts in the freezer. All other fresh stuff is being picked up on Sunday when me and my mum go to the shop. I have already insisted we will be going early so prob about 7am as I just hate how busy everything is getting, we'll be in and out as quickly as possible!

We are going to my mums for Christmas so don’t need to buy loads. Just been out this morning (got there about 7.30am) to a pretty empty Asda and M&S. was quite surprised how easy it was.
Definitely try and go first thing, M&S was open at 6am and Asda is 24hrs

You won’t be able to go at 7am on Sunday, most shops are either 10 or 11am, Sunday trading.

My thinking is if I go today my lot will have eaten the goodies by Christmas Day !
Went to Morrison’s yesterday morning for our works buffet and it was already heaving then ! It’s a shame Sunday trading won’t allow opening before 10 or I’d be there crack of dawn Sunday. At least I have ordered turkey from our milk lady and she will bring that Sunday evening.

Not if you live in Scotland. M&S is open at 7 am and Morrisons 6am on Sunday. Tesco etc. will be the same.

We've done it - on Wednesday both Tesco and M&S had the right 'dates' on all the food we wanted. Buns and party type food are in the freezer, the rest will be ok.
