Drink Drive Limit

As the title suggests really.

I always thought the limit was zero but have read trip reports where the driver has had 1 beer with a meal. Could anyone confirm the limit as DH may have a beer with a meal occasionally if allowed but he is a HGV driver so we wouldn't want to risk him losing his licence or worse.

As above, its the same limit as in England.

I think your confusion probably lies with the zero tolerance policy in Florida for drivers under 21. In this case, anyone of that age found with a blood alcohol level of 0.02 or higher, will automatically receive a 6 month ban.

I found this out by accident a few months back.

I was taken aback. Traveled all over the States for over 30 years and always assumed it was zero. Seems it was one of those myths that just got repeated (I'd told many people myself) and then believed.

Don't take the risk! There is a beer called O'Doulls, it is non alcoholic but tastes fine. I haven't drunk alcohol for over six years so something of an expert on this!

Oh - it's OK. I'm pretty religious about zero alcohol when driving. And as for zero alcohol beer - thanks but life's too short.
