I started on 23 then increases by 1 per year up to 27. Also get an extra 2 per year if you don’t take any days sick. Best to weigh up the whole package really and whether you want to leave your current role. Good luck

Local government, 23 years service. 30 days plus 7 fixed public holidays and I buy a further 5 days a year.
We work flexi so can add 1.5 days per four week period but obviously need to have worked the hours. OH private civil engineering firm gets 29 days, 10 of which he has to take at Christmas. |

Annual leave allowances will be more generous in public sector. For private sector, I think this is low, in fact it is only one day more than the legal minimum.
I have been in the private sector workforce for 28 years and have never come across such a low holiday entitlement as that in the UK, lowest I have seen is 24 days plus all bank holidays. I would not take the job, not just about the holidays, but I would be worried about a company that does not respect work life balance. |

The legal requirement is 28 days including statutory holidays. In the US people would be amazed at such a generous leave entitlement.
Really miss my Civil Service days. 30 days, 8 bank holidays, an extra day at Christmas and Easter. We even had a day for the Queens birthday ! Plus 2.5 days a month on flexi. |
