As Tinkerbell said it is a minefield in Spain re taxes etc. I wouldn't buy a property at this time and wait till the UK has left the EU. As has been said there are different rules from town to town and even then the Generalitat (Provincial Government) can overule them as well. Whilst we lived in Spain we know of quite a few people who were caught out and it cost them a lot of money. If we ever went to Spain we would just rent a property and that way you don't have to worry about taxes etc. I think there are safer places to buy property in the world.

There are some really valid points which I thank you all for.
We are not buying a property to make money as such just wanted to cover costs. We are hoping to retire in Spain and make a move out there in maybe 10 years time and wanted to get a foot on the housing ladder. We are both entitled to an Irish passport so will be EU citizens still which should help. I will definitely be doing more homework before going ahead x

Would the golf resort option have a pool? If so that would be my preference. Do you watch place in the sun? Maybe get yourselves on there? I love that show.

The apartment with the shared pool. We like to be near to the beach, restaurants and activities on holiday. Wouldn't book any of the others.
