Card swipe for car hire

Hi
If I have a car hire booking thru Alamo Brits picking up/dropping off at the Disney car care centre and pre-pay for the rental, wil the depot then swipe my credit card to hold a certain amount as a deposit/guarantee?

They will swipe your card but we have never had money held although I believe some people have had, particularly if you are using a pre paid currency card. Pussycat

If you have a credit or debit card, they do not put a hold on an amount. All that happens is that by swiping your card, they have your permission to bill the card provider for any extra charges. They do not ask the card provider whether you have enough credit or enough cash in the bank.
However,if you have a pre-pay card, like Fairfx, they will put a claim on a certain amount to cover additional charges.
