OMG £50? Is she for real? We decided to do a poundland secret santa - at the time there were 4 £1 shops in our local town, so plenty of choice and it didn't matter if it was something the person didn't like - we all really enjoyed it and were surprised how nice some of the little gifts were. I wouldn't even be happy with spending £10 unless it was a very close working environment where everyone got on well and knew each others likes well.

Ours is £5 and we have to find the most ridiculous/stupid present for that price. It's just a joke in our office really.

We did it like that last year. One poor woman ended up with a light switch pull thing which looked like a hanging man, as you'd put the around its neck. Dreadful gift.

This year we're pulling names out of a hat and having a £10 limit.

£50! Seriously! that's ridiculous. I arrange ours in my office and it's been set at £5 ever since I set it up 10 years ago. People do moan now and again saying they can't find anything for £5 and suggest upping it to £10. I've never had an issue finding a gift for £5 and always put real effort in to getting something fun. I think the problem with my lot is they just don't look hard enough.

When I worked in an office it used to be £10 max. However a couple of the managers always used to give bottles of Moët, always lovely for you if they got your name.

Wow at £50! There is always a risk in Secret Santa and I would be scared with that amount of risk. Ones I have done are usually £10.00 in school last year it was £5.00. Someone got a bag of thorntons toffees and a toothbrush I loved that idea!

Ours was/has been £5 for many years
Until it was stopped last year
When the sales manager bought the customer services manager a mug saying I’m a t*** on the bottom of it and he was not happy...
Oh everyone’s faces when he opened it and wasn’t happy 😱
