I note that Alamo and Alamo Brits is a big price difference of over £100. The Alamo site offered silver, gold and platinum packages whereas the Brit site just offers all inc package... (note no option for free tank of fuel though... )

Is there any difference and why prices are so different?

Great Thread.

Petrol Head question!
Does anyone know what trim levels the cars at Alamo are?
I can see that the Std SUVs there are Ford Explorers/Edges etc. However are these just the basic models or are they the mid trim levels?
There's quite a difference between Base, XLT, LIMITED and Sport models.

No point paying for a better SUV if the base models are so basic the have windy windows, junk radios etc.

I ask as I've had a Town & Country from Sixt and it was fully loaded with Rear cam, DVDS player, SIRIUS Sat radio.

Just curious... I love gadgets!

I've had several Fords as a rental from Alamo/Hertz during the last years, and always the fully-loaded LIMITED-versions

Hi we've booked a premium from Alamo. DH was hoping for a Chrysler 300 but this is listed as a premium *special* on op. What are the chances of us getting a Chrysler 300?

^You can ask them for the car you want if it's not there in the aisle.

As an example when we arrived in January there was only a Nissan Armada there, I said I'd prefer a Tahoe or an Expedition and they were happy to check and see if there is one being cleaned ready to come through or round on the B-side (we arrived at Terminal B).

I don't have any pics to share but we ended up with a brand new (38 miles on the clock) 2015 Ford Expedition having picked the "Full Size SUV" box. Humongous boot with the back row seats folded. 3.5 twin turbo V6 with 365bhp as well so it was usefully quick which felt unusual for a US rental car, made joining the freeway much less stressful.

It's the characters for DW and the kids and the big ass cars that do it for me

Sorry if this has already been asked but a lot of cars have sat navs built in but these are charged as added extras..? Looking at using savetime so don't have to go to the desk at the airport... what happens if we make use of a built in sat nav?
