Claudette if you need emergency shoes that are super comfy there’s a Sanuk store at Disney Springs. I have the Sanuk yoga mat flip flops and sandals. I’ve worn them all day at Magic Kingdom on an open to close park day. They really are comfortable. I prefer the flip flops but they have sandal type shoes too.

Day 2: CBR room service dinner

After struggling with my resort hopping even with a monorail to help, I decided to ditch the afternoon plans and couldn’t even face my planned ADR at Sebastian’s Bistro which is a bit of a shame. I decided to eat in the room so I could keep my foot elevated, which I read is good for blood blisters.

The in room menu offers a selection of pizzas but these are family size so too much for me. I therefore looked at the entrees which were all Italian styled. I decided upon the Chicken Parmesan with mariana sauce and I added on a carrot cake to get the order up to the minimum $15. When I was on the phone, I decided to order a bottle of Diet Coke as well and by the time tax, service and delivery fee were added, I was up to $27!

The food was delivered to me within about thirty minutes, I was asked to sign a bill asking for even more tip than the 18% plus $3 delivery that I had already paid, so I wrote in here “included”.

My heart sunk as I started to unpack. The pasta was fat and flabby, maybe the kind of pasta a five year old might enjoy? I don’t know, no offence intended to any of my five year old readers. It was honestly though, very bland, with no seasoning applied and unfortunately no salt or pepper sachets were provided. I didn’t have any in the room either, although I did hopefully check and nearly (mistakenly) chucked a sachet of sugar over it in desperation.

The chicken was ok, but it was too small a piece and should have had a bit more cheese, the mariana sauce was fine. I ate the chicken but not much of the pasta, however I put it in the fridge and if my feet keep me inside today it might just be a cold pasta salad lunch.

The bread stick was horrid, served cold and tasteless. Not worth the calorie or carb intake, so that was binned after a single bite.

I was surprised to receive a cake in a pot, I had expected a slice. I didn’t eat it last night, but for the purpose of this review, I had a spoonful of cake (!) just now. The topping is nice and tastes as it should, the cake part was a bit hard but I did have it in the fridge all night, I think if I leave it out for thirty minutes it will be ok. Still a strange pot cake.

Overall not a great success, I shall echo Nev from last night, that it served a purpose in feeding me but was a bit meh.

Thank you, I think I will definitely take a look. I might even see how I am later, I am going to venture out for breakfast soon, although I will not be going far.

I know what you mean about the Go Walks 😂 Every holiday I think I’ll take them but only wear them if I have to, then I end up wearing them all the time as I decide to go for comfort 😀 My DH call them my ugly comfy shoes 😂😂

Shame the pasta wasn’t good, I usually find the pasta at the food courts quite tasty, maybe it didn’t travel well for room service. I hope your feet feel better soon

I can suffer with blisters if I do a lot of walking in the wrong shoes. Always carry blister plasters with me. Feeling your pain. Can Nev pick you some up at airport?
Cheese sandwich looks yum.

I have some blister plasters, that Nev bought me unsolicited the day before I travelled. I am just waiting for them to work their magic.

Just caught up properly and I’m enjoying following along!

I recommend Sanuks too. They are nice and comfortable. The people in the Disney Springs store were also really nice, not in a pushy over the top way either.

Nev’s travel day: Premier Inn breakfast.

Nev is currently on the 10:05am from Gatwick, below is his review of breakfast at the Premier Inn Gatwick North.

The Premier Inn starts breakfast very early, so I was down at the restaurant before 6am. As I had had a substantial dinner last night, I wasn’t after much, but the English breakfast buffet called to me. It was standard fare as you would expect from a breakfast buffet, but has really set me up for the day. I was really happy to see black pudding.

There were other options with plenty of cereals, pastries and fruits. And if I had more time, I would probably have settled in with a pain au chocolat and coffee.

I was more impressed with breakfast than dinner.

Oh no I hope you get the blood blister sorted!

The room service dinner doesn't look good at all, I hope you manage to get out for some better food today.

Won't be long before Nev is there now 😊 xx
