Revolut Card and Dollars.

Hello, I have a few thousand dollars left over from a previous trip, would I lose out if I converted back to sterling then transferred it on to the Revolut card ? I have never used this card before.

Hi,

You'll likely lose a bit of money, but it's down to the conversion of $ to �, rather than anything to do with Revolut.

If you have $1000 in dollars, you would need to go to a currency exchange to convert it to $ - it is at this stage you would likely get a poor rate. Once you have the �, you can add it to Revolut and you'll probably have a bit less than $1000.

When the money is in Revolut, you can exchange between currencies with no fee (so $1000 to � and back to $ would give you $1000 assuming the exact same currency exchange rate)

I use Revolut on a daily basis, it's my go-to card at home so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

If you didnt take out a rate protection / exchange back, you will lose out a fair bit changing $ notes to � at the likes of a exchange company.

I would just take the $ notes with you.
