Twitter Disney account are saying that even current bookings will be able to upgrade Magicbands later today. I hope they are right, I've got 5 days to pick mine

Iíve not seen anything to say it been released yet for anyone and isnít an option for me.
Itís one of those things that they wonít announce a date as they. Red to do an it system upgrade so if work falls behind they donít have to apologise.
I very much doubt they will refuse people who have already booked from upgrading as the bands cost so little to produce so by refusing people who have a.ready booked they are turning down thousands in profit.

disney are now offering the option for onsite guests to upgrade the free plain magic band to a selected character band you just pay the difference between the 2 - save $14.99 off the price of the new one.
It was meant to be live on the system from the 15th but as of yet its not actually been available

I always thought the 15th a very optimistic so soon after the announcement, if it were that quick they would of simply waited and then announce it as it went live and saved their customer service teams taking various calls and so on about it

I suspect their IT teams are working on it and are either in the final stages of making the changes or they are doing a pre-release test run as we speak with selected guests

I have no evidence to back it up but I would guess it would go active mid June in time for July and August holidays.
