He needs five gcse pass but obviously needs English and maths as two of those . He needs a B in geography too if he wants to take that . Thankfully he has just messaged to say he found geography ok - the best one yet , he does normally get B’s and A’s in that but I am taking nothing for granted . I don’t remember being this stressed with my other two but when they took theirs it was totally different and could take exams and then resit if it was a poor grade before the end of year 11.

Got a little more from my 2 (and their friend) geography was ‘ok’ though Beth and their friend answered all 3 parts of the last section when they should have only done 2🙄

Maths, all said it was ok but surprised how much problem solving there was and how little algebra.

Physics tomorrow!

DD was not looking forward to maths today but just had a text to say it went decent, so that's better than expected.

Maths and geography for us today. Said both were ok.

My ds is dying in his backside though. He’s so poorly with a persistent cough and cold type symptoms. He says he feels lousy and his cough is keeping him awake at night.

He has an afternoon exam tomorrow so rather than attend school at 9 I’m going to let him wake up naturally which is normally around 9 and him revise at home in the morning. Told him he’s got to limp through to Friday although he’s got English tutor and in school next week some days for revision classes.

Will be glad when it’s over and dine with

So maths was okay thankfully but thinks geography was a disaster. It’s his own fault for writing the subject off as he hasn’t enjoyed it.

It’s so difficult when they have lost interest. I wouldn’t stress about it if he has no desire to take it further. It’s similar with my son, he doesn’t enjoy Physics and he struggles with it. He just wants to pass it, anything else is a bonus.

Well I had one who thought the maths was ok and one who didn’t. My dd burst into tears after my ds said one particular question was easy and she thought it was hard. Oh dear!

Joy of twins!

We've had our first tears tonight.

For some reason the art teacher thought it was a good idea to tell them the marks that have gone to the moderators. (Added stress they don't need). To make it worse she told Katie she had scored in the low 80's on both coursework and exam and then realised she had told her Beth's marks and Katie had actually got high 60's for both.

So tears from Katie who feels she's never good enough and tears from Beth who feels she can't celebrate as her sister is upset!

My daughter is coming to the half way point now (Friday 24th) she will have completed 26 in total when she leaves on June 14th. It has been a rough yr11 for her, well a rough 18months for us all- lost 3 immediate family members, bullying issues and a lot of pressure from a top performing school (mocks every 4 weeks) which resulted in a very stressed/high anxiety daughter. I must say though she had handled her exams really well so far, one blip just before English lit paper 1 but came out of that exam very happy, maths today was very hard (I saw the foundation paper after the exam with working in a school) but she seemed ok about it. Hope it continues. All I've ever said is read and re read, do ones you know and most of all just try your best. I'll be glad when June 14th is here even though I don't feel old enough to have a child leaving school haha

Sorry to hear of some wobbly children. It’s so hard to spectate.

DS said today that the Maths was hard but he thinks he did okay. He has 6 more exams this week with 2 every day. It’s a good job there’s a half term!

Good luck tomorrow. Physics will be interesting for us
