Mobile Has anyone had allergy tests done for eczema?

Privately?

My mum has has eczema since she was little, but it seems to be getting worse.
None of her creams and meds really works, was wondering if skin food test allergies might help?
Amy other ideas? My poor mum is being drives insane 😑

My husband had them done on the NHS, to be honest it has not really helped with finding the cause of his skin problems.

My daughter had one too and it didn't help at all. She does take an antihistamine everyday now and that has really cleared her skin up.

I had the tests done years ago on the nhs. I found out I had a big reaction to dust mites and dogs when I had the tests on my arm. I then went and had some tests on my back for ingredients in products but they didn’t show up anything.

I sympathise with your mum, I’m in the middle of an episode now on my feet and it’s driving me crazy.
If anyone has any remedies, I’m eager to hear them, as my medication isn’t helping.
I’m going to try the antihistamine suggestion.

I've found that anti fungal cream can help on the feet especially if your a scratcher. As we spread bacteria when we scratch. I'm going through a bout on my feet at the minute as the heat makes mine worse x

I have been medicated for eczema since the day I was born, I literally came out blistered!
Ive always struggled and have the strongest creams and antihistamines that they’ll prescribe. However, last year I completely changed my diet and went keto and my skin has pretty much cleared up. My diet is the only thing I’ve changed so it has to be that, it’s enough to keep me on this way of life forever

Had loads of skin and blood tests, just told me what I could have guessed anyway - pollen, dust mites, perfumed washing powder/soap, cat, dogs (get a rash if licked), heat, certain food allergies and intolerances. Was told I'l likely grow out of it - I'm now late 50s!
All I can suggest is use stronger cortisone for a short a period as possible, the more you use it the more your body will become used to it! I find it is a cocktail of things that does for me, too much of the wrong food, too much alcohol(!), too much heat and stress. I have to take time out and try to relax and chill by lying on the bed and listen to music or a harry potter audiobook and try to ignore the itch. Not a nice condition and been fustrated for years over how little support there is for it, as if having all these wonderful creams are cures, rather than just a way of masking the condition.

My Dd suffered with excema when she was little and had a variety of creams from gp which had no effect.

An assistant in body shop recommended their Hemp Balm, it was in a little tin. I was sceptical but tried it and it was like a miracle, stopped the itching and soreness and totally cleared the patches up.

She only had a couple of flare-ups following this and I used the Hemp Balm with same effect.

I don’t know if it’s still available as this was years ago.

Read about Ultra bee stuff recently may be worth a look. skin conditions are horrible and painful, I sympathise with other sufferers, my darling wife who is allergic to cobalt etc tested at the hospital told them this but let’s just see how bad aye ok ya tools 6 months later still never cleared, idiots the lot of them imo. If it were in my power I would make them go through this agony.
