Tinnitus & noise cancelling headphones
Help .
Do you have tinnitus? I need all your insider info on dealing with it. Do you find noise cancelling headphones help?. I am awaiting ENT/ Audiology input but the high pitched noise is driving me bananas. Tried Betahistine with no effect |

Yes i do, i have suffered since birth, im 48.
Do i own nch, yes 2 sets my dylans and samsung galaxy buds, and it dont make any differance. Erm tinitus is not a sound, so the quiter it is the louder the tinitius appears, thats how i find it anyways Edited at 05:00 PM. |

Me too - and agree, noise cancelling headphones do not help one jot.
I find you can train yourself to notice it less, and tinnitus itself can be handy when you want to tune out other noise (works well on low level teenage bickering, on TV volume of elderly relatives when I have gone to bed - etc...) it is quite useful - and mine isn't going away, so I need it to have some positives... |

I've had it for years now and I think noise cancelling Headphones make me more concious of it. What does work for me is an app on my phone that plays beach sounds. it inevitably sends me off to sleep. There's loads of these apps available and most are free.

I’ve had it for years and the only thing that helped was when I got a hearing aid. It’s made a huge difference, hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for an audiology appointment

I don't like them as I find outside noise soothing as it cancels out the tinitutus.
I've had it for several years - constantly in 1 ear and intermittently in the other X |

I too have had it on and off for years, i work wearing headphones and this i found i could concentrate on the sounds better without outside distraction. I think everyones experience is different and trial and error also helps. I also found microsuction also helped stop the noise. It was literally making me feel so low as i couldnt sleep due to the "noise",
I hope you get your appointment soon. X

I have talk radio on all night (low volume, I live on my own, cat is deaf). It reduces how much I notice the tinnitus in my left ear.

Yes ive used white noise, it helps, more recently our ceiling fan has started clicking, im finding that it is interfering with the tinitus and sleeping like a baby , however on the other hand its driving my wife insane 😂😂🤣
