Footwear
Hi All,
I’m hoping someone can help me out. Last time round I really struggled with foot pain from being on my feet all day, specifically the bottom of my heels felt like they were on fire if I stood for too long. To be fair I do not think I invested in the right footwear prior to going and for some reason didn’t think to buy new when I was out there (no idea why). I’m heading back in a couple of months and I’m keen to avoid a repeat. Searching for walking trainers online brings back hiking trainers which do not appear to look nice or they look very heavy and therefore too much for the Florida heat. Does anyone have any recommendations for solid footwear? I’m thinking that running trainers with good cushioning are going to be the best thing but happy to be advised otherwise if people disagree. Look forward to seeing what you can advise. Thanks in advance. Adam |

Running trainers which are very light and with a good sponge sole are perfect and is what I’ve been using for years 🌞🌞🌞

My husband wears “Hey Dudes”for our last four Florida holidays.
They are really light weight and have a lot of cushioning. heydudeshoes/?gcli... AEgIpifD_BwE

Just bought a pair of sandals and trainers from Sketchers, both like walking on clouds, weigh almost next to nothing and both washable. Knowing we are going to get wet feet, these are perfect as will dry in next to no time. Highly recommend them. Have a great holiday

You can't go wrong with Skechers go walks, super light and cushioned. I take a pair of their trainers and sandals and don't need anything else.

I went with a pair if Adidas Deerupt trainers last summer and they were honestly a godsend. I think they have quite a few on sale now at Adidas website. Echo the other comments, any light breathable running trainers are a great choice, as they rend to dry pretty quickly should it rain..

We always bring Sketchers Go Walk and I also have trainers from the Nike Air range which are excellent, very light in the luggage and also to wear.

Stick with a neutral running trainers from an established running brand like Brooke’s aasics saucony or mizuno.
It sounds like you have plantar fasciitis in which case look knee to wall and heel drop calf stretches. Whatever you do do not use sketchers or sandals this will result in your calf muscle working harder which will pull on the fascia band at your heel which will make your pain worse. Keep doing calf stretching a little and often during the day this will help a lot. |
