As you said yourself it's not with looking to then and your requirements have not changed. I am certain you will get your 'bargain' as will people booking early and being content with their budget and the value adds they may get for an early commitment.

What would help DIBBers would be how good a bargain you got /get on Flight prices, car rental and park tickets and when and where to book them to maximise their budget.

Some people love rollercoasters and others prefer to relax on a Lazy river.

Sorry, but I am bit puzzled as to why you started this thread. You are booking later than most people. My reaction is: so what? Who cares? Why do I need to know that? Are you just bragging because you think it is particularly clever? Lots of people book late.

Lots of people on the Dibb obviously book exceptionally early - they prefer the opposite extreme. It is understandable that villa owners, hotel owners, tour operators etc will try to get people to book early. They have a product to sell. They will try to lock you in with aggressive marketing. Since the UK school summer holidays are only 6 weeks long, any one villa can only take 3 bookings of a fortnight each, so if you are very fussy and only one villa will do, you need to book before the others.

Whilst there are only about 150 villas advertised on the Dibb, the number of rental properties in Orlando is in the tens of thousands. Most visitors are from the US - Brits are tiny minority - so the Dibb is hardly representative of the overall market. There are an incredible number of new builds coming on the market all the time, plus a couple of hundred of existing properties are sold every month. These new owners are probably a lot keener than the old owners and quite likely to refurbish or upgrade the property, before advertising it for rent. It is certainly not the case that only the rubbish is left - there'll also be lots of new stuff that the early bookers missed out on as it just wasn't available then. The rubbish was available to early bookers too. Whenever you book, you should be selective.

If you want to book early, then book early. If you want to book late, book late. Or sometime in between. Neither is right or wrong.

Very well put. As an owner I may be biased so to read the post above I thought it to be well balanced and constructive.

It's the same post as last year, telling people how clever he is to book late but I'll bet once again he won't put his money where his mouth is and share what his clever scheme got him !
Still at this this year so far he's avoided insulting the villa owners on here !
