The Boys

Anyone else watching this on Amazon Prime? Superheroes gone bad! I’m 5 episodes in and really enjoying it. Starring Karl Urban and Elizabeth Shue and the great Anthony Starr from Banshee. Recommended if you want to see Superheroes behaving badly

Yes, we’ve watched all of the ones on Amazon. Really enjoyed it and it’s got a 2nd series renewal.

Yep, it’s brilliant! I’ve read the comic books and Amazon have cut a LOT of the sex and violence out (which, if you’ve seen the scene with Popclaw and her landlord, is really saying something!)
It’s strange seeing an American actor play Hughie, who is originally Scottish (as the name suggests!) and based on Simon Pegg (that’s why they hired Pegg to play his dad) Karl Urban’s accent is all over the place but I can’t picture anyone else as Butcher now. I loved his speech about the Spice Girls
I absolutely love the actor who plays Frenchie, his relationship with The Female is so sweet. Homelander is absolutely terrifying, as all overpowered superheroes (think Superman) should be. I felt bad for laughing during The Deep’s attempts to liberate his aquatic friends. Overall I can’t wait for season 2!

I am loving it! Karl Urban accent leaves something to be desired. I wasn’t sure if he was meant to be English or Australian. Love Frenchie, I think he is my favourite. I also couldn’t stop laughing at Deep rescuing the dolphin (I’m going to hell for sure! ). That’s really interesting about Hughie and Simon Pegg. I have been telling absolutely everyone about this show. So so hoping for a season 2.

Season 2 got ordered before season 1 went out. They had massive confidence in it

Our daughter was only talking about this series earlier, she is loving it.

We might watch it after the holidays.

Trying to phrase this without spoilers...

For those who have seen the last episode, *that* last scene - real, or dream/hallucination?

Personally, I'm leaning towards the latter, thanks to a trick that Eric Kripke used to use on Supernatural. Real like was dark, gritty and desaturated; alt-universes were brighter, cleaner and over saturated. And the faker the alt was, the brighter it got!

Oh, and Slipknot used footage from the show in the video for one of their new songs, Solway Firth.
