NASCAR Experience

Hi all,

Both myself and OH have big birthdays next year so probably looking to do something a bit different whilst away in July/August.

Has anyone driven a NASCAR with either Rusty Wallace or Richard Petty? Both sites look good but looking for some personal reviews from DIBBers if possible.

Haven't driven a racecar but did the ride along with Richard Petty at Daytona a few years ago. It was great. I know people who have done the driving with Petty and they have loved it.

I did the Daytona Petty driving experience 11 years ago as a wedding gift from my wife.

Was a great day out, nice easy drive up to Daytona.
After signing in you get the standard driver briefing class about all the rules like your not allowed to do a NASCAR burnout out of the pits

Then you all get loaded in to a mini bus and taken round the track this is when you feel how steep the banking is

its much steeper than you think.

Next its back to the pits and wait your turn, while one car is out on the track they get you loaded in your car through the window (can be a bit of a squeeze if you have been enjoying all of the Orlando food).

When its your time you follow the professional driver in the other car in front of you out of the pits, you then follow his line around the track, he will start to speed up and you have to keep up, if he sees you struggling he will slow down a bit but if he sees your pushing on they will speed up and go faster.

Daytona is a awesome place and would love to go back for another go
or a race weekend, the sound of two cars going around was great so can only imagine what a full race grid and the crowd atmosphere would be.

After the track we even had time in the afternoon to drive down to Daytona beach and have a look around.
