Seattle / Vancouver
We have been looking for different destinations for a while and came up with Seattle and Vancouver. We've not looked too much into things to do in the cities but we would usually do a hop on hop off tour, which for both cities look worth while.
For those of you who have visited, have you got any must do's. We wont have a car in either city so suggestions for areas/hotels would be good please. We fly into Seattle plan to spend 4 night, take the train to Vancouver and stay 3 nights before flying to San Francisco to pick up a car. Is this enough time in each city? Many thanks

We were in Vancouver for 6 days. We went up Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge, both had free busses from Canada Place on the waterfront. Stanley Park is lovely for a walk, we walked all the way round in 1 go, maybe that was a bit far, but there's some lovely views, could sit on the sea wall and watch the floatplanes take off and land all day. We did a scenic floatplane flight over the city and mountains, I loved that.
Also went to the Aquarium, which is in Stanley Park. The rest of the time was spent in Gastown and Granville Island.

We didn't think much of the hop on hop off . The suspension bridge ( and the rest of the attractions ) are worth going to , I was totally terrified and walked over the bridge laughing and crying at the same time , much to everyone's amusement. 3 nights is plenty in Vancouver its self and I have only over nighted in Seattle so cant comment on that .
In my opinion , I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in either place , we did as a start and finish point for a trip to Alaska Personally I would do a longer trip in Canada or a longer trip in the SF area |
