Le Cellier looks great even if they can't sub the sides, that's weird. We've never eaten there and it was on my list for next year so I'm glad to see a positive review.
I definitely include Le Cellier - the atmosphere, service and food were all great.

Maybe the not subbing sides is policy or perhaps it’s just server dependent.

Well I’m already back and this is not complete I’m only 6 days missing though so should get this up fairly quickly once I start.

Give me a day or two to get over the jetlag and I’ll get the rest posted

Just read through this report, I think we are food twins.
That Grand Martini looks amazing.

Day 9

Today I spent the day at AK and I loved exploring Pandora. FOP! What a ride! I loved it. I also enjoyed seeing the Christmas projection on the tree of life. I’m not sure if it’s very clear but it was beautiful

So today’s entry for ‘Goldia’s Christmas Corner is..AK’s Christmas tree and The Tree of Life:

My ADR at AK today was Tiffins. I had no expectations of this as I had read limited reviews beforehand. I was amazed by how stunning the interior was and I had a great server called Andy.

The bread service here is unique and has molasses with oil which I am sure some people may find overpowering and the bread itself is malty and dense. I actually really liked it but I can see it might be an acquired taste.

I recalled here had a cocktail I had been wanting to try. Annapurna Zing -
Bombay Sapphire Gin, Passion Fruit Purée, Mint, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer, Glowing Lotus Light.

This was delicious. The Gin and ginger beer was so good together and I loved the light up lotus flower. Andy was fab and gave me so many menu recommendations and info about the room I was in. He explained the journey the imagineers took and how they were inspired.

For starters... I went out of my comfort zone and chose the mussels on Andy’s recommendation. I have never had them before and I was so apprehensive. Thai Curry Mussels -
Yellow Curry, Fennel, Crostini, Nam Phrik

Ohhhhh this was amazing! So much flavour from the curry and the mussels were so good. They weren’t rubbery or slime-y. The Nam Phrik was a blend of spices served separately that you could add to the broth the mussels were in meaning you could control the level of spice and heat.

For mains I went with the Butter Chicken -
Chickpea-Rice Croquette, English Peas, Cauliflower, Pickled Onion.

Another fab dish. It wasn’t overly sauced which I loved and thought the addition of the pickled onion was inspired as it cut through the richness of the butter chicken. It was so tasty and the portions here weren’t overfacing me.

Andy recommended the dessert. Tiffins Trio -
South American Chocolate Ganache, Whipped Cheesecake, Caramel Mousse.

He said this contained a sample of their best desserts and he wasn’t wrong. The chocolate ganache was a little too rich but the whipped cheesecake was so light and tasted beautifully. The cherries had been soaked in a syrup and were so flavourful.

Overall, I loved this meal and would return each visit if I could. It was that good. Andy was an amazing server and spent so long explaining things, interacting with me and making sure I enjoyed my meal. At the end of the meal he brought the bill and stated ‘the bill recommends a gratuity amount but please ignore that. Your company has been great tonight and it’s been a pleasure to serve you. It’s totally optional and leave only what you feel like...’

I thought this was great - no pressure and no fuss. I guess you could be cynical and say it’s a reverse psychology but it seemed genuine and regardless I was always going to tip well but it does make a difference from reports of Dibbers being more or less told what to tip.

Up next Jiko Thanks for reading along I apologise for not eating more

Ooh lovely tree and lovely cocktail. I really enjoyed the Annapurna Zing, I had it when we went to the Nomad Lounge. The food in the restaurant looks really good though, I'm glad you tried something outside your usual sort of choices and that you enjoyed it.

Tiffins really surprised me! It felt like such high quality food and the atmosphere was fab. Loved the Annapurna Zing too, such a tasty cocktail!

So sorry I’ve been so slow at updating this - between work and a chest infection I haven’t had much chance!

Still I promise I will get the rest uploaded over the weekend
