An to the lovely thread starter. My biggest tip is. DO NOT spend too long in the parks, when you feel yourself getting a bit tired and short with each other, then that means it is time to leave and come back later or another day.
We tend to do no more that 6 hours in a park at once, then go out refresh, go for tea and go to a different park on a night for the night time things. Remember your tickets are ultimate tickets. You come and go as many times as you like. You don't need to cram everything in, in 1 day :-) Have an amazing time. I will be there from the 28th

I wish I'd known that there's something in the water that keeps making you go back

We first went in 2005 and stayed on site (films?) with tickets for Disney (14) and Seaworld. It was booked through First Choice.
Regrets 1. That we never knew of the DIBB and therefore our research was minimal. 2. That as a result of 1, we did not even know of our favourite Park (DC) and never considered BG or Universal. 3. That as a result of 1, we knew nothing about the better value of food on IDrive LBV and practically everywhere else. 4. As a result of 1, we never considered DIY, research and getting exactly what we wanted, rather than what the TA chose to sell us. We have never stayed on site since, not visited Disney on our last 5 trips, always have a car and invariably multi centre, generally in other States... all thanks to now being very well aware of 1.

For me it would be buy and read the Brits Guide to Orlando, only thing is it wasn't being published in 1991!
Loads of great advice and tips.

As a few others have said it's strangely addictive. We're embarking on our 6th visit next year!
I'm also in the group who hadn't heard of the Dibb before our first trip in 2014. So, there are loads of things I'd do differently. I assume you've booked FP. We didn't know they existed until 48 hours before the trip and I phoned to book the magical express and a lovely lady told me we could book them. So in a hurry we booked some and of course we had a marvellous time and it didn't matter that we hadn't booked them at the perfect time. Buy an autograph book early on. We didn't catch on to this until later in the trip. These are brilliant souvenirs and my kids still have all of theirs from previous trips. Try to not rush, but I'm still not good at that now and struggle to take in the atmosphere and absorb the fun of the parks. It isn't all about rushing from attraction to attraction. But as I said I fail to follow my own advice here repeatedly and often urge my family on when they would rather sit back and watch the world go by, I'm often looking for the next attraction, FP or ADR. I hope you have a magical time!
