BA cancels our flight (not Florida) help please
Sorry not Florida related but BA have cancelled our flight and moved us to the next evening. It’s a girls trip 50th only for a few days, so don’t want to loose one and a half days also our hotel and parking is booked already. Do I just have to except this? Sorry just wanted to ask before I phone. I feel so bad as I had found and organised this trip TIA

Is there any options from another Airport on the same day? Or leaving earlier and amending dates. You need to know what resolution you want and don’t phone until you have checked all the options. I’ve found with this type of thing BA are decent but getting through can be a task!

Look and see what options there are for the day before and then ring them. You often find it’s a hit or a miss on who answers the phone. If the first person isn’t the best keep trying!

There’s an easyJet flight out on the original day, they wouldn’t swap you to another airline would they? Probably a bit to much to ask

No but they would likely refund you to enable you to book yourself with Easyjet.

Yes, you can ask BA to put you on a different airline if there is an earlier flight to the one you have been moved to.
From the CAA website: 2. Choose an alternative flight If you still want to travel, your airline must find you an alternative flight. It’s up to you whether to fly as soon as possible after the cancelled flight, or at a later date that suits you. Airlines often refer to this as being ‘rerouted’. Although most airlines will book you onto another of their flights to the same destination, if an alternative airline is flying there significantly sooner then you may have the right to be booked onto that flight instead. You can discuss this with your airline. |

That applies if there is less than 14 days I believe. Outside of 14 days they must offer you an alternative flight (which they have done) or they can just cancel and refund you the full booking amount.
They are unlikely to be willing to book you onto anything which is not part of their partner code share program if outside of 14 days. However, they don't know whether you could go earlier, so may well be able to book you onto an earlier flight if they have one available. Edited at 03:06 PM. |
