Cancelling through Alamo website?

I've used Alamo a few times and always had the ability to cancel online. Our July trip is looking very unlikely and today I thought I may as well cancel the car hire and get £500 back.

It's telling me I can't cancel right now and to call - working full time and could do without being on the phone for ages. Anyone else had this issue?

I have used this number in the past, they will need all of your rental booking details to process it. 0800 028 2390

Still trying to cancel 🙄 spoken to them twice now, still no refund. Seems to be related to the fact I booked on the Alamo/brits website link. They said it’s coming up that I booked via a publishing house 🤷 Definitely booked it all online directly on the Alamo website. Booked in 2019 on the same link and cancelled online no issues at all. No idea what is going on this time. Will keep trying 😬

Alamo employee's will just see the booking as being through a 3rd party. They're clueless as to the fact the booking and payment has been made directly to them. I'll mesage you with a contact who will sort it for you.

I am having same problem. I’ve called 3 times since March, firstly was told it was due to third party booking and tried explaining I used Alamo Brits discount. Second call I was told I would go down as a no show as Disney car care centre would be closed. I was assured I would be refunded but no joy. Last call I was told I would be refunded in 7 days but 21 on and still no sign of a refund. DFCH-Andy can your contact help me out please. Difficult juggling work and calls to the US. Thank you!

Like all the rental car admin staff Alamo are equally as hopeless.

I had a glitch last year trying to cancel a Brits booking as normally it's not an issue. The E Mail chain was hilarious and I couldn't be bothered after a week of their nonsense.

I did a charge back instead with Barclay Card who found the E Mails quite funny when I spoke to them.
Refunded me very quickly.

Looks like I may have to down the charge back route too Mr Tom Morrow. Though sadly despite the promise of a confirmation email each time I don’t have any. I just have the dates of my skype calls and nothing else to confirm my efforts to cancel 3 months ago!

I did manage to get it sorted in the end via the Uk freephone number for Alamo - finally got the refund a few days ago!
